Oct-Feb Gartnavel Royal Hospital Ward Henderson House, Screen-printing Tutor
Duties Include: Working with clients from different backgrounds, I was asked to produce a workshop plan and a budget that would over costs of all new materials including screens, inks and paper. Whilst working at the hospital I was introduced to clients that were in need of one to one specialist care, working alongside nurses I introduced the clients to working with materials they had never used before, by showing them examples and by demonstrating they were able to produce prints up to A3 size. I changed the direction of the workshop by introducing collage and monoprint. The outcome of the workshops have been hugely successful that other wards within the Gartnavel Royal have asked for the same workshop to take place.  

Sept 07- Feb 2008 Tramway Arts centre, Visual Art Tutor
Duties Include: Teaching a class of up to 10 students the process of Screen-printing. Working with Monoprinting and Stencil printing producing a portfolio of work that is highly successful and covers not only screen printing but collage and painting learning how to work with a medium in combination with another. The classes were taught on Saturday mornings and required a hands on approach and a breakdown plan of what the class would entail. I was also given a budget to supply correct materials for using over the three five week projects.

July- Aug 2007 Glasgow Museum of Modern Art, Warhol Screen-printing Workshops
Duties Include: Working with both Adults and children on alternative days I was responsible for implementing a structured class in Silkscreen that was educational. I was responsible for preparing a  materials list for the staff at GOMA that would cover the aspects of Silkscreen which I was teaching over the month of July. The class involved a tour of the Exhibition that was on show at the GOMA where students could see first hand Silk-screens and understand more about the process. I delivered the class with a successful outcome of Silkscreen prints and inventive ways of working with a new process.

July 2007 Scottish Academy of Asian Art, Coatbridge High School
Duties Include: Providing workshops throughout the month of July for Children with  learning difficulties, I am responsible for the budget and organising all material to be brought to the School. The classes consist of Silkscreen workshops, in the form of Mono-print and stencil. Introducing the children to different ways of making art. Drawing with stencils and creating exciting images in a variety of mediums. 

June – July 2007 Scottish Parliament Banner Project, Kibble Education Paisley, LBGT Centre Glasgow, Quarriers, The stand Clydebank.
Duties Include: Working alongside 4 different organisations I was involved in implementing a project that would result in the Scottish Parliament Banner’s that are paraded along the Royal Mile towards Holyrood for the official opening ceremony of the Scottish Parliament. Throughout the workshops I worked with children with Learning difficulties and assisted them in producing a banner that will represent their organisation. Working in the LGBT Centre alongside adults who have had no previous exposure to arts, I provided all material and helped them choose topics that would represent them in producing an exciting banner. Whilst working with Quarriers I was introduced to Somali women who had never had the opportunity to draw or paint so by demonstrating and experimenting we again produced exciting work. The work produced through the workshops was taken and scanned and then using photo- shop created exciting banners for the Scottish Parliament opening.

May -June 2007 Click Youth Arts Centre
Duties include: A two-week project resulting in Andy Warhol silk-screens, produced by 15 students using their face as inspiration whilst bringing in ideas from their surrounding environment. The classes took place in the evening at Perth Primary School. I was responsible for ordering equipment and taking all equipment to Perth via train and on arrival setting up screens and inks for students. By demonstrating and hands on experience the students produced exciting and bold prints that where highly individual and indicative of Warhol’s famous style.

April 2007 South Ayrshire Council Garnock Academy
Duties Include: A two-day workshop developing separations for a silkscreen and producing the final drawings in the Glasgow Print studio working with a class of 10 students I Introduced them to Silkscreen images and examples of work, then by exploring their work I developed with them a three colour separation which was printed in an edition of four. Within this project I worked along side the High Schools Art teacher, by preparing for the class in advance and with examples and demonstrations I delivered a successful 2-day workshop in Silkscreen.

March - April 2007 South Ayrshire Council - Connexions project.
Duties Include: Working with the theme of connections to other Scottish Artists I introduced the children to the work of Bruce McLean and his Silk-screens showing how the students can make work of similar style. By introducing them to Silkscreen with Demonstrations and then hands on support with producing work for a Separation, using stencils and drawing directly onto the screen with oil pastel, achieving an edition of work that was then cut out and collaged onto a banner that all the students had contributed to and they could see the connection between their work and Bruce McLean’s Silk-screens. Working with students of P7 I worked in three different schools over a month period arranging class structure and preparation, Ordering materials and research on the Artist. 

March – Present 2007 Glasgow Print studio, Screenprint Editioner
Duties Include: Within this role I have been working under a highly experienced Master Screen-printer, and with his initial instruction have been producing Artists Screen-prints, this involves preparing paper, cutting down to size, preparing artwork on screen, alongside mixing of colour to the Artists requirements. I have recently been working with four prints in an edition of 100 prints in each edition. This has proven to be a highly rewarding experience and one I shall continue to expand my skills in. Artists I have been working recently are:  Eileen Cooper RA, John Houston, Alasdair Gray, Martin Boyce, Scott Myles and Kate Davis.

March 2007 Carntyne Nursery School – Weather Project
Duties Include: working alongside 3 and 4 years children I planned and executed a project that involved them from the beginning stages straight through to the final result of a banner which they will be able to see hanging in their playground. Using Silkscreen printing, press printing and mono-print the children were able to produce a high quality print that 

Nov- Dec 2006 Our lady’s High School Cumbernauld New Editions Project with Glasgow Print studio
Duties Include: Working alongside another Printmaker we were responsible for delivering a project based on Printmaking processes that was able to be taught in schools, teaching to 1st 2nd and 6th year students covering woodcut, Silkscreen and Relief Printing. I was constantly developing ideas and themes with the students for their prints and then assisted realising them onto screen or wood this involved teaching the process in a way that was comprehensible to all ages and staff. We had a budget to cover all costs and had to oversee the Artwork at all stages from initial to the trimming down and framing for exhibition.

October-Nov 2006 Scottish Academy of Asian Arts, Inspiration Ani-mate a pre school workshop, Glasgow city council, Mulberry Nursery Renfrew St Nursery
Duties Include: During this arts workshop for under 5’s we introduced the children to mask making and helped them create colourful and exciting animal masks. The classes where to be fun and educational and most of all be an activity to keep the children entertained. Working within a budget and over a period of time I had to prepare and organise in advance for the next workshops to make sure that with the time we had the children always had something to do.

July- Aug 2006 Tutoring Community Arts Programme, Scottish Academy of Asian Arts Glendale Primary School
Duties Include: As Arts tutor I was involved with working with a large group of Children with learning difficulties from Asian communities throughout South Glasgow. I was provided with a budget to buy all materials for teaching throughout July. I was responsible for introducing the children to Silkscreen and Mono-printing I worked with children from the ages of four and upwards to sixteen. The classes where to be fun and educational for all the children to use materials they had never used before and make his or her own patterns and drawings on Perspex or silkscreen and then transfer to a print. I was responsible for all cleaning and tidying of the Art Department and ensuring the safety of all children whilst in my care 

May-June Glasgow Metropolitan College, Community lecturer Royston Community Centre
Duties Include: As community lecturer this involved working to a budget, Buying materials to carry out the various classes in Silkscreen and Mono-printing. During my employment I was working with various age groups from over 60’s to young primary school pupils from the surrounding district. My main purpose was to introduce individuals to new ideas within Art education and allow people to try out various ways of working with the processes of Silkscreen. This in turn allowed adults/children in the community to explore what was available at colleges throughout Glasgow and concluded with a great deal of interest in the classes that are available in Glasgow Metropolitan College.

May – June 2006 Technical Advisor Screen-printing, Glasgow Print studio “Artist in exile Project”
Duties Include: Whilst working on this project I was asked to assist all Artists involved in the Project from the beginning stages right through to final preparation for exhibition. This includes advising in all aspects from technical assistance, tutoring giving both technical advice and critical advice. By supporting Artists from initial sketches to produce a very high standard of Screen-print in a small edition ready for exhibition. Providing all health and Safety checks are carried out and everyone is aware of various hazards throughout the Workshops.

Sept 2005 -Present Technical Advisor- Silkscreen tutor Glasgow Print studio - Evening /Weekend Classes/In-service days
Duties Include: Throughout the evening classes I have been involved in hands on Technical assistance and providing all  teaching and critical advice on the process printmaking (Silkscreen) This has involved working with a group of six to eight adults who have never worked in silkscreen previous and taking them through the process step by step to produce a four colour separation and edition of at least six prints. I am responsible for preparation of the class and that all health and safety methods are carried out in full as key holder opening and securing of the building on weekends and evenings when classes are being held.

April 2005 Visiting lecturer at Grays School of Art Aberdeen
Duties Include: I have gained substantial experience whilst teaching at Grays School of Art and Canterbury school of Art as a visiting tutor, Within the positions I became very active in one to one tutorials and slide talks and was asked to speak to a range of Art students in a college wide discussion about my practice and the various approaches and mediums that it entails. Within these posts I am extremely confident and active in giving one to one tutorials and speaking within groups. I have substantial skills and confidence in communicating to other people.

April 2003 and March 2004 Assistant Technician in Etching, Lithography and Screen-printing Evening classes, Royal College of Art London
Duties Include: As assistant technical advisor throughout the evening classes, a course of nightly events throughout each area of printmaking. The class is open to the public, Students and staff. Assisting the visiting tutor in the workshop and throughout the preparation and delivery of the class. Providing technical knowledge and support, organisation, cleaning and maintaining the upkeep of the workshops. To ensure work surfaces are clean and ready for use the next working day. To ensure health and safety standards are met at all times. I have achieved substantial skills in communication having supplied talks on different ways you can make stencils and how you can combine both, True grain film and drawing with computer-generated film.
